Electric Feathers Spring/Summer 2012 Presentation Review
Electric Feathers, and an electric morning! After three straight days of rain and gloom, the sun shone brightly on the Mercedes Benz fashion tent at Lincoln Center. We were ready to be relegated to Leana Zuniga’s chimerical world of convertible gowns, jumpsuits, and capes.
Rachel Comey Spring/Summer 2012 Runway Review
We did something out of the ordinary today. We took a cab! We (or rather, our wallets) usually favor the subway or very long walks, but today was a bit gloomy and drizzly. And sometimes it’s romantic and very New York to successfully hail a cab in under five minutes!
A barrage of sartorial bliss from the sunny, warm future
New York Fashion Week officially begins on Wednesday. Although autumn is unofficially here, and we’ve yet to unpack our winter wardrobe, we will be met by a barrage of sartorial bliss from the sunny, warm future; Spring/Summer 2012. We’ll be attending a few shows, visiting a couple of studios, and sharing our adventures and inspiration with you.
The earth shifting; trembling, unsettling, but fortunately, not catastrophic
We experienced an earthquake on the usually still, unwavering East Coast this afternoon. DOMAHOKA headquarters swayed back and forth, as we stood frozen, not certain what was happening. An unexpected, strong gust of wind? The unwieldy foundation of an old building? A super, mega-subway bullet train that was going 60+ miles per minute? It was a rare, uncharacteristic 5.8 magnitude quake.
When we meet the truly great, several things may happen
Mrs. Quick is better—good isn’t it? Were you surprised to have my letter so soon? Went to see “The Crisis” last Fri. Very very good. Hackett is an ideal lover. I am to visit a friend this eve. Would rather hug the fire it’s so cold. I like this card very much. Don’t you Lizzie?
Lovingly, Agnes, Jan 19-03
My So-Called Life, vegan donuts, and apparitions equal inspiration
Quietly, we’ve been getting inspired here at DOMAHOKA headquarters.
Infinite gratitude and hugs, Doris & Mark Ho-Kane a.k.a. DOMAHOKA
Well, hello! We were waiting on consistent Spring-like weather to inspire the debut of our Spring/Summer 2011 site, but the elements in New York have been very disagreeable. Sometimes, it even felt downright personal. Cold, rain, and gloom one day, abundant sunshine and beautiful breezes the next. With or without your cooperation, Mother Nature, the wait is finally over. Our mini-shop update is here!
